Greg Shier is a progressive-metal artist from Kingston, Ontario. After picking up the guitar at age 10, Greg's attention landed on 70's hard rock giants Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin. Shortly thereafter, his focus began to shift towards more progressive music and advanced music theory. Bands like Yes, Rush, Dream Theater and Steve Vai moved to the forefront of his attention. At this time, Greg began studying under the direction of Scott Burns (GIT Graduate) and taking courses at Queen's University in theory, world music and music history.
