Tirania is a melodic death metal band from Zaprešić, Croatia. Formed in 2003, Tirania is a band with a long history, characterised by many changes of members and genres. They started as Thrash Metal band mainly influenced by Metallica. With their next lineup, they brought in a new sound combining Heavy Metal and violin. The result was the demo album ''Illusion''. After they removed the violin, lack of speed and power, it was all about technique. They next recorded a progressive single called ''The War After''. Because of a conflicting combination of ideas the longest Tirania lineup split. Pushka, the founder of Tirania, gathered together new members. In October 2011 Tirania released an EP, The Essence of Magic through Satanica Productions. The EP was a musical project based on Egyptian mythology, with four interconnected songs together forming a closed concept. Metaphorically speaking, it was a sort of a ''religious'' experience of the conscience penetrating into the sphere of gods. The Arabic scale enhances the feeling of authenticity flowing through the entire creation. All lyrics from the release were taken and remodeled from ''The Book Of Dead'', found in ''Egypt - Temple Of The Cosmos'' by Jeremy Naydler. On the cover is divine child, Horus the Saviour, triumphing over dangerous animals. In May 2012 a demo EP, The Lurking Fear, was released. The EP was based on the H.P. Lovecraft short story of the same name. This was followed in January 2013 by the single release, Dracula's Guest.
