Lostprophets was a alternative metal/hard rock band formed in 1997 in Pontypridd, Wales. They released 5 consecutive albums, and won several different varieties of awards. They were going strong until late 2012, when the main singer, Ian Watkins, was charged with "multiple sexual offences against children". The band stopped all planned tours and disbanded the group.
