Gentlemans Pistols is a hard rock/stoner rock act from the United Kingdom. They formed in 2003 as a three-piece band consisting of James Atkinson (vocals, guitars) Douglas McLaughlan (bass) and Simon Mawson (drums), though the latter ultimately only played one gig with Gentlemans Pistols before being replaced by Adam Clarke in 2004. Chris Rogers was added as a second guitarist at the same time. Gentlemans Pistols' first releases were the 7" singles Just a Fraction and The Lady, both in 2006. In 2007 the group released their first album, a self-titled, via Rise Above Records. Adam Clarke left the band shortly before the release of the album and was replaced by Stuart Dobbins. Later, in 2009, Chris Rogers also left and was replaced by Bill Steer, who is known for bands such as Carcass and Firebird. The new line-up recorded the second album At Her Majesty's Pleasure which was released in 2011. In 2013 Douglas McLaughlan was replaced by Martyn Roper. - Biography by adg211288 (October 2014).
