Eibon la Furies was created as a singular project by Paul D Sims as Lord Eibon Blackwood in 2006 to make industrialised black metal and dark ambient music inspired by Victoriana occult spirituality. During this time, with various musicians, two demo Eps were released – Something Wicked This Way Comes and Yours Truly...From Hell. In 2008 Eibon la Furies became a permanent three piece with Jamie Batt (Battalion) on drums and Matt Cook (The Furious Host) on bass, playing as best unsigned progressive band at Bloodstock Open Air Festival in 2009. This same year the band signed to innovative and well respected label Code666. The debut album, The Blood of the Realm, was released in 2010 on Code666. Eibon la Furies performed live with a Victorian style occult burlesque show, headlining the Terrorizer Magazine Sponsored Witching Hour Festival and were part of Zero Tolerance's The Great Exhibition tour. Always wanting to expand horizons, in 2012 Eibon la Furies recruited the staggeringly excellent young lead guitar player, Neil Purdy. The band became a four piece and started writing their second album, The Immoral Compass. Inspired by many of the great alternative British bands, Paul's interest in occult philosophy and the pioneering spirit The Immoral Compass has been shaped to be a powerful and commanding album. Lord Eibon’s (aka Paul D Sims) vocals range from acerbic rasping Black Metal, to Death Metal roars, to visceral whispers, to rasping melody. His seven string heavy guitars plummet to the depths of low and guttural grooving riffs. Neil Purdy’s six string nimble lead guitar work is fitting of the top realm of metal's elite. Batallion’s (aka Jamie Batt) forthright and creative drumming has an almost militaristic take on where extreme drumming can go. The Furious Host’s (aka Matt Cook) progressive bass work works as a pulsating punked up machine of an instrument driving the songs along. Choirs and compositions are predominantly directed by Lord Eibon with Jamie Batt joining Lord Eibon on the initial innovation of song writing. Together, Eibon la Furies are innovation and creativity in the world of extreme metal.
