Founded 1990, by guitarplayer Carl A.Tidemann, (later known for his work with bands like Arcturus, and Winds) following in the wave of progressive bands like Queensryche, Fates Warning and Dream Theater. After several lineups, and name changes, Tritonus released their demotape “Shadowland” in 1994, and received great reviews. Both in Norwegian, and international magazines. 1995, they were part of the sampler “A Gathering of 8 Norwegian Prog Metal Bands”, released by the label FaceFront. The album also featured great bands like Manitou and Spiral Architecht. All of them part of a progressive “movement”, and the momentum were used at different degrees by the bands. Tritonus, on their part, used most of the late 90’s to write the songs for their debutalbum. The recordings did not start before year 2000, and were done at different studioes, over a long period of time. . several years actually.. The album “Prison Of Light” is now finally mixed and mastered, and ready for release in 2013 !
