DAY WITHOUT DAWN is a progressive metal band from the United States. Day Without Dawn emerged from the ashes of the New Jersey experimental progressive metal band The Postman Syndrome who were dropped from their label due to a streak of bad luck. Soon afterwards they broke up, and it was around this moment that Day Without Dawn was formed.. At the beginning they spent a year recording demos and looking for another label. During this time the band had a constant line-up changes and it wasn't till midst 2006 that the band finally settled. The lineup consisted of Jim Stang (vocals, guitar), Chris Alfano (guitar, vocals), Brett Bamberger (bass) and Seth Rheam (drums). Later, around the same year the band released their self-titled debut EP and in 2008 they released their first and final album, Understanding Consequences. Soon afterwards Jim Stang decides to leave the band and the remaining members: Chris Alfano, Brett Bamberger and Seth Rheam have since moved on and formed the group Biclops with the addition of Dan Brownridge (vocals, guitar) but is soon replaced by Kevin Conway. Members; Brett Bamberger and Kevin Conway are also part of East Of The Wall: a band that also consists of ex-The Postman Syndrome members such as Matt Lupo and Mike Somers. Day Without Dawn's music is a hybrid of experimental progressive metal and post metal spiced with heavy doses of jazz.
