Dyssidia is a progressive metal band from Adelaide in South Australia. Formed in 2010 by Jesse Olley, Corey Davis and Nathan Harvey, Dyssidia spent almost three years composing and recording their debut EP, Quiet Waters, which was finally released in 2013. The original three band members worked well together and enjoyed jamming, but still lacked a singer and a bass player. Neil Palmer joined the band in early 2011, and after another year of rehearsing and writing without a singer, Mitch Brackman joined in mid-2012 with his versatile vocal range and powerful screams. Dyssidia cite Opeth, Dream Theater, Tesseract and Porcupine Tree as influences.
