Whispers From A Dead World is a pagan black metal band from Amherst in New York, formed in September 2005 and lead by Akagth (aka John Shipley). Whispers From A Dead World started out as melodic black metal, but after a few months evolved into epic pagan metal. Further progression has seen a stronger folk and classical influence. Whispers is not a religious or a political band. Common lyrical themes are war, brotherhood, honor, and death. In 2006 Whispers From A Dead World released a split album with Light Shall Prevail.
